Storage Guide
Storage Guide for Goods Received in Woolcool Packaging
Your items will have been carefully packed using Woolcool® – a natural, eco-friendly insulation made from 100% pure wool. Here’s how to ensure your items stay fresh and properly stored after they arrive:
Unpack Promptly
Upon receiving your package, remove the contents from the Woolcool® insulation as soon as possible to maintain freshness. Woolcool® is designed to keep your products cold during transit, but freezing or refrigeration is needed for long-term storage.
Freezing Frozen produce
If your items have arrived promptly they should still be frozen. If you are satisfied that the items have remained frozen we recommend storing in your freezer immediately. Simply remove the product from the Woolcool® packaging, and place in your freezer. Your items have been vacuum sealed and frozen from fresh and the label will reflect the recommended 3 month use by date.
Refrigeration of Fresh produce
If your order contains fresh produce, remove from the Woolcool® packaging and store in the fridge immediately. Your items have been vacuum sealed from fresh and the label will reflect the recommended 12 days best before date. If you don’t plan on using your items right away, we recommend freezing them for long-term storage. Items can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Keep It Cool
If you’re unable to refrigerate or freeze immediately, please store your package in a cool, dry place until you’re able to. However, for optimal quality and safety, refrigerate or freeze your items as soon as possible.
Woolcool®Recycling
After you’ve unpacked your goods, Woolcool® is fully biodegradable and can be recycled. We encourage you to reuse the insulation within the plastic sleeve, or rip the wool out of the plastic film and break apart to compost or recycle within garden waste. Woolcool® Plastic is recyclable Grade 4 MDPE/LDPE in the same way as carrier bags, either within household recycling (if accepted) or at a carrier bag recycling point. The Paper/Cardboard is FSC-certified recycle within normal household recycling or composting. https://www.woolcool.com/woolcool-recycling-ideas
