Sustainability
No pesticides or artificial fertilisers
Not only have we partnered with Woolcool® sustainable packaging, graig.wales is committed to minimising our impact on the planet we do not use pesticides or artificial fertilisers on our land.
Renewable Energy
We heat our fully insulated property with a ground source heat pump (two 100m bore holes in front of our stables) and a bank of 16 solar panels on our stables generate electric which is stored in batteries and used to power our hybrid car. Our natural spring water is gravity fed to the property from the hills above.
Small-scale sustainable farming
Our lambs and pigs are born on the farm, have access to several acres of land, only have one journey to Tregaron a short 20 minutes drive powered by solar energy, reducing transportation emissions. On the rare occasion we need veterinary assistance our animals received the best care we can offer but generally we operate natural animal husbandry which means no medication in our meat.
Recyclable Food Trays
We use Recyclable Food Trays made from 90% recycled materials that are both durable and flexible. The RPET Mono material trays are 100% recyclable after use or reusable. Simply rinse and re-use if required.
Craft Butchery
Our production focuses on honouring our animals by utilising as much as possible with a nose-to-tail approach to butchery. We butcher in small manageable batches to minimise waste and will look at expanding the cuts we offer online to include those we currently enjoy ourselves such as ham hock, ribs and trotters. Once we have perfected our production methods we hope to offer more cured and ready-to-eat cuts such as Guanciale (cured pork cheek), salami and chorizo.
